
The Diocese of Ife Trinity Ordination and Collation of Archdeacons Service was held on Sunday 13th July, 2025 at St. John’s Anglican Church, Ilare, Ile-Ife. The service was presided on by the Rt. Rev. Olubunmi Adeyinka Akinlade – The Lord Bishop of Ife Diocese.Â

The Ven Benjamin Ayegunle who gave the sermon with the Theme: A vessel unto Honour (2 Tim. 2:20-21), admonished the Clergymen to be vessels unto honour in the journey of their work with God. He stated that everyone is called to be an instrument in the hand of God.
Using 1 Pet 2:9, the preacher said God has called each person into various capacity to serve in his vineyard either as clergy or laity. Emphasizing that many workers today are only vessels which are not unto Honour but dishonour, following various characters that are against the principles of Christ which doesn’t exclude Priests. He sited Gazzi in 2 kings 5 and Judas Iscariot who both was chosen to be a servant unto Honour but eventually decided to be a vessel unto dishonour due to selfish gains thereby allowing themselves to be used by the devil.
He ended his exhortation by highlighting and discussing the under listed as ten things to do in other to become a vessel unto Honour.
1. You must be born again.
2. Stay away from sin -1 Thes. 5.2
3. Deactivate of self from work of fresh -Gal. 5:19-21.
4. Activate of the fruit of the Spirit.
5. Set your heart on the things of God.
6. Live a sanctified life
7. Live a purpose-driven life -Eph. 2:10
8. Stay focused and avoid unnecessary distractions – Phi 3:13-14
9. Self discipline.
10. Continuous fellowship with God.
